Fire (2nd Quarter BJP) Update

Well, not as much progress as I'd hoped, but it's better than none!

serenity

silken swirls of soft shadows
cling to her gossamer wings
as she stretches and soars
her secret flight
known only to the sunlight
that surreptitiously beckons her

the silent wood
her stalwart sanctuary
slowly
surprisingly
shares with her its strength
and she surrenders to her destiny

Faerie's Kiss

he touches her face
leaving faerie dust in her hair
the softness of his breath
warming her skin

silently he unfolds her wings
from their hiding place
behind her back
gently waking her to her true self

DeviantART Daily Deviation!!

The first quarter of my 2007 BJP was given a Daily Deviation at DeviantART! There are many things being posted to DeviantART every day (about 1 per second or so). Each day, about 20 Daily Deviations are chosen to be showcased. They are from many different categories - photography, traditional art, etc., and not many are from the Artisan Craft category. who am i?

i am a blank slate
the past has been erased
the shadows of the chalk
leaving cloudy smears behind

i wonder if i have the guts now
to write what i want or
if i'll continue to write
what other people expect of me

"Fire" Progress Update

Going to start working on this again tonight. Looking forward to finishing the outside so I can start on the flames inside. "Water" is next, and I'm looking forward to using lots of blues again.

watching the sun rise to meet me

brilliant fire streaking across the sky
scorching my breath

wake me up
burn my fear
erase my pain

walking on the ledge
reaching out to touch the sun

radiant energy searing through me
tearing down the walls

erase my pain
burn my fear
wake me up

submission

hold my hand
as we follow our hearts
and the footprints of our Faith

we give our souls
to the grace of God
and trust in His desire

swallow sorrow and regret
wash our hands of doubt
fill our eyes with light

with His radiance illuminating our path
the rain of Forgiveness
will carry us through

deliverance

You hold me close
when i cry in desperation

You let me go
when i am scared to stay

You show me the path
when i am lost and alone

You bring me home
when i finally submit to Your will

alone

she screams desperately inside her head
no one hears her there
the noise is deafening

was the silence better?

sometimes, my poems don't accurately reflect my feelings - i imagine them worse and the words come. i read the words back to myself to figure out if they are really true. but no sense wasting a good poem or being scared that others will read it and think badly of me.

pierced

her broken spirit
shattered into a million fragments
cries out for healing

sharp edges from slivered glass
bite at soft skin
drawing blood with every heartbeat

is this what it feels like to be alive?

trial by fire

a white hot fire rushes in
coursing through her veins
consuming all it finds

her scorched soul
lain bare by the flame
she finally begins her rebirth

butterfly

she waits patiently
like the butterfly she is
until the perfect time

slowly and deliberately
she stretches her new body
breaking free of her cocoon

trembling, she waits again
until her wings are full
and she is ready to fly

the kiss

eyes closing
fingers twining
lips touching
bodies melting
hearts sighing

Flat Spiral Bracelets

These 2 bracelets were made at the bead retreat last weekend. They are flat spiral weaves and are so fast and easy! I gave the blue one (made with Swarovski crystals, Toho beads, and a Swarovski button clasp) to the retreat hostess as a gift. The red and gold one is made with Czech firepolished glass beads and 24k Charlottes.
